Like all Crescent Moon snowshoes, the Gold 10s boast a teardrop-shaped frame that provides greater maneuverability than traditionally shaped shoes without sacrificing flotation. The frame shape makes the snowshoes ideal for trekking off trail, whether through the woods or over an ungroomed field. The Gold 10s live up their backcountry reputation via the two additional sets of stainless-steel traversing claws, which combine with the three stainless-steel crampons to provide a grip that's particularly noticeable on steep traverses across the fall line or on long descents. About Crescent Moon
The family-owned Crescent Moon is based in Boulder, Colorado, and has been making all its snowshoes by hand since its founding in 1994. Each frame is bent, cut, and welded one piece at a time using aircraft-grade aluminum. The company also uses specially designed materials for cold and abrasion, cutting and assembling the parts by hand in the small factory located just two miles from the famous Boulder mall.
